August 15th (Sat) 夜の気配さえ熱を帯び、風のない闇が肌にまとわりつく—そんな真夏の盛りに、ひととき現世を離れる怪異の舞台をご用意いたしました。
〈水戯庵〉では、この夜まで続く蒸し暑さを忘れていただく暑気払いとして、お盆の真っ只中に「納涼怪談能」を開催いたします。 Even the night air shimmers with heat, and the windless darkness clings to the skin. In the height of midsummer, SUIGIAN invites you to step beyond the ordinary and into a world of haunting beauty. As a respite from Japan’s intense summer heat, we are pleased to present our special Summer Ghost Noh performance during the Obon season. 今回の演目は、能「鉄輪 (かなわ)」。
夫への深い恨みと嫉妬から、人間でありながら鬼へと変貌していく女の姿、そして鬼女と陰陽師・安倍晴明との祈祷による壮絶な対決を描く、能屈指の名作です。 This year’s featured work is “Kanawa (Iron Trivet),” one of the most powerful masterpieces of the Noh repertoire.
The play tells the story of a woman consumed by jealousy and resentment after being abandoned by her husband.
