SUIGIAN has launched “MOMOKAWAROH –Tokyo Underground Arts Society–,” a new experiential lounge taking place only on Fridays.
It will be a fusion of music, fashion, and art, set against the backdrop of a Noh stage, that conveys traditional Japanese culture worthy of preservation and transmission.
Harmonizing tradition and technology, this program will present “Tokyo nighttime culture” as a new offering for the world.

Kurumayama Shrine | Soichi Terada
This time, “MOMOKAWAROH” will host a sacred Shinto ritual conducted by Kuruma-yama Shrine, the Shrine of the Sky, upon the Noh stage.
Following the ritual, there will be a Naorai gathering— a traditional sharing of the blessings of the gods with the people— along with a special performance.
For this special performance, we are honored to welcome Soichi Terada, a pioneering composer of Japanese house music since the 1990s.
His live performances—sparked by the international release of the compilation album “Sounds From The Far East” (2015) on the renowned Dutch label Rush Hour— have captivated audiences across the world.
The evening will weave together the sacred dance of Miko (shrine maidens), the ancient sounds of gagaku performed by Gakunin (court musicians), and the contemporary sonic expressions of DJ Soichi Terada.
In this moment, the prayers of antiquity and the sensibilities of the present will meet, giving rise to a singular world that exists only for this night.
Throughout history, the sounds accompanying sacred rituals have continued to evolve, embracing new forms of expression with each era.
For those of us living today, allowing contemporary sound to resonate with our prayers is perhaps not a departure from tradition, but rather a way of allowing tradition to breathe and live in the present.
“Shunon-sai” at SUIGIAN is not simply a performance.
It is a sacred moment to welcome the turning of the season through the body, the senses, and the quiet space of the heart.
Within the atmosphere of sound, dance, and prayer, may you feel the gentle arrival of spring within yourself.
We sincerely look forward to welcoming you.
