水戯庵リニューアルグランドオープン

SUIGIAN, opening again after remodeling, is a restaurant and bar with the theme "Culture Play in Seasonal Japan," where you can enjoy the changing seasons and traditional Japanese culture in style with an experience that is healing and often inspiring.

With each change of The 24 seasons and 72 climates that make up the traditional Japanese calendar, experience "playing with seasonal foods," with exceptional dishes that focus on the fresh ingredients and soup stock (dashijiru) that form the basis of Japanese cuisine.
At SUIGIAN, against a classical and authentic background of old pine trees said to be painted by an artist belonging to the Kano School in the Edo Period, watch stage performances of traditional performing arts such as Noh, Kyogen, Japanese dance, and ancient Japanese court music that transcends traditional schools.
Enjoy a "feast" of these Japanese traditional performing arts up close, as we give you an experience of "playing seasonally with traditional performing arts."

SUIGIAN lets you experience the fleeting beauty and tastiness of the changing seasons.
By all means, please relax and come to play with Japanese culture.

[ The 24 seasons and 72 micro-seasons ]
Now four seasons are standard, but in ancient Japan the spring, summer, fall and winter were divided into 24 seasons, and each of those 24 seasons was further divided into 3 smaller seasons of 5 days each, called the 72 micro-seasons.
This helped people sense the changing seasons.
