Friday, March 3rd is "Hinamatsuri," a wonderful time of year when spring is just around the corner.

When "Hinamatsuri" arrives, Japanese people often reminisce about the children’s song they used to sing when they were little, "Ureshī hinamatsuri". The "Goninbayashi" mentioned in the song’s lyrics has not been seen even by most Japanese people.

For this reason, we will be performing a real life "Goninbayashi" in connection with the Peach Festival (Girl's Festival in March).
Based on Gobandate (five programs) Noh "Shin-Nan-Nyo-Kyō-Ki," we will introduce you to the music of Noh performances which evoke various worlds.

Please come see this special rendition of "Goninbayashi" produced, performed, and commentated by Japan’s living national treasure, Genjiro Okura, as you enjoy the delicious foods and drinks at SUIGIAN on Thursday, March 2nd, a "Hinamatsuri" for adults one day early.

* Hinamatsuri (Doll's Festival): An event celebrated on March 3rd which prays for the growth and happiness of girls. Dolls called "Hina-ningyō" are put on display in order to drive away misfortune from the girls who own them.
* Goninbayashi: Five court musician dolls at the Girl's Festival (in March).
* Shin-Nan-Nyo-Kyō-Ki (God-Man-Woman-Madness-Ogre): The Noh performances are divided into five types, and each one symbolically portrays the common name of the leading part.

This event ended on March 2nd (Thu)
