“April Uzuki

This month is April, known in Japanese as "Udzuki."
"Udzuki" is short for Unohanadzuki, meaning the month in which Flowers of deutzia bloom.
Another explanation says that since the rabbit (usagi) is fourth in the Japanese zodiac, the month was named Udzuki (rabbit month).

You can also look forward to multi-course dining featuring many seasonal ingredients characteristic of spring’s true arrival.

At SUIGIAN, where we "play with culture" in accordance with the seasons of the old Japanese calendar’s 24 seasons and 72 micro-seasons, you can experience the joy of feeling the breath of nature at the height of spring, with dishes with seasonal ingredients and performance programs that are appropriate for the season.

Also, the "SAKURA FES NIHONBASHI 2023," held throughout the streets of Nihonbashi, will also be held until April 9 (Sun).
Along with a visit to Fukutoku Shrine (Mebuki Inari), make sure to enjoy a moment in spring at Suigian.

* Japanese zodiac: Its roots lie in the Chinese zodiac. From ancient times it was one method of representation used to indicate time and direction.
In place of numbers or stars, twelve animals are used for the zodiac, which completes a full cycle every twelve years.

[ The 24 seasons and 72 micro-seasons ]
Now four seasons are standard, but in ancient Japan the spring, summer, fall and winter were divided into 24 seasons, and each of those 24 seasons was further divided into 3 smaller seasons of 5 days each, called the 72 micro-seasons.
This helped people sense the changing seasons.
