On Friday, February 20th, we will be launching “MOMOKAWAROH –Tokyo Underground Arts Society–,” a new experiential lounge taking place only on Fridays.

SUIGIAN has launched “MOMOKAWAROH –Tokyo Underground Arts Society–,” a new experiential lounge taking place only on Fridays.

It will be a fusion of music, fashion, and art, set against the backdrop of a Noh stage, that conveys traditional Japanese culture worthy of preservation and transmission.
Harmonizing tradition and technology, this program will present “Tokyo nighttime culture” as a new offering for the world.

For this event, we welcome Producer/DJ Tornado Wallace and DJ/Producer/Party Organizer Courtney Bailey, both based in Berlin, Germany. Bringing together DJs who are active on the international stage with Tsugaru shamisen, Nankin tamasudare (Bamboo mat show) and, remarkably, Rakugo (Traditional comedy theatre), this event delivers a wondrous encounter of sounds.
What kind of chemical reaction will unfold? Witness a truly special night that can only be experienced in person.

* Tsugaru shamisen: A traditional three-stringed instrument known for its emotional tune and powerful, fast-paced rhythms.
* Rakugo: A traditional comic story telling of Japan with 400 years of history and is still enjoyed among people of all ages.
* Nankin tamasudare: A traditional Japanese street performance, creates all kinds of shapes such as animals and familiar items while singing using only a bamboo shade.
