Minazuki

October has arrived, and fall is well underway.

In the traditional Japanese lunar calendar, October is affectionately known as Kannazuki.
It is a season when the gods gather, and we offer thanks for nature’s blessings, eagerly awaiting the rich flavors of the autumn harvest.

Tokyo has experienced a record-length rainy spell, continuing for 36 days.
We hope that this prolonged rain has nourished the earth and will serve as a blessing, bringing forth an abundant harvest in the seasons to come.

At SUIGIAN, we have prepared a wide array of special events unique to autumn.
Seasonal dishes that capture the essence of autumn, carefully selected sake, and an array of timeless traditional performing arts brought to life right before your eyes.

Savor, indulge, and appreciate—
With all five senses, experience the charms of Japan that are only available at this time of year.

Image of ingredients

Our menu reflects the rich flavors of seasonal ingredients, captured at the peak of the unfolding autumn.

From the sea will be fatty Pacific saury and Autumn salmon, richly-flavored Spanish mackerel, and sweet, plump Japanese tiger prawn.
From the mountains will be Matsutake mushroom, representing autumn’s aroma, joined by Maitake mushroom and Shimeji mushroom, adding their own rich, fragrant notes.
What’s more, tiny autumnal treasures such as Gingko nut, Chestnut, Yurine (Lily bulb) and Mukago (Yam bulbils) will lend subtle color and variety to each dish.

Vegetables storing up the vitality of the earth—succulent Autumn eggplant and Komatsuna (Japanese mustard spinach) as well as the fine, elegant creaminess of Ebi-imo (Shrimp-shaped taro), the richly wholesome flavors of Burdock and Renkon (Lotus root), and the natural sweetness of Kabocha squash and Sweet potato—will soothe your soul, their flavors lingering harmoniously with the finish of our dashi broth.

To conclude the meal, we will serve a selection of autumn fruits—Japanese persimmon, Grapes, and Japanese pear—to bring a colorful finish to this experience of the unfolding autumn.

We invite you to step away from the bustle of daily life and spend the long autumn evening with us, immersed in the refined grace of Japanese hospitality.
We look forward to welcoming you all.
