In 2026, we will open for business starting on January 1st (Thu / holiday), with our “New Year Performance.”
On New Year’s Day, we will feature an auspicious Kagura performance inspired by the theme of "A New Year Celebration."
The performance will include the "Dance of Treasure Bestowal" by Ebisu and Daikokuten, famous as two of the Seven Gods of Good Fortune.
The dance is performed as a prayer for the prosperity and success of all our guests.
On Friday, January 2nd will feature a Kotobuki-jishi (lion dance) and Daikokumai, a New Year’s tradition believed to bring luck and prosperity.
On Saturday, January 3rd, and Sunday, January 4th, we will stage “Early Spring Dance” through the art of Nihon-buyou.
The final performance on both days, “Kyō no shiki (Four Seasons in Kyoto),” “Sawagi” is a blend of old and new; featuring projection mapping of Japan’s four seasons onto a mirror board decorated with our iconic Noh stage’s old pine tree motif, accompanied by a mesmerizing dance from a traditional Japanese dancer.
To complement the performances, we have curated a “New Year’s Special Course” dining experience.
Guests are invited to indulge in exquisite New Year’s cuisine that captures the festive spirit of the season.
We invite you and your loved ones to celebrate the New Year in style at SUIGIAN, perhaps paired with a visit to Fukutoku Shrine, a historic site in Tokyo’s Nihonbashi district known for its divine blessings.
After your visit, enjoy a memorable experience at SUIGIAN, where you can share meaningful moments with loved ones and welcome the new year in style.
We look forward to welcoming you all.
* Momokawa Geinagon: A group composed of female Nihon-buyou, Nagauta, Koto song, Shakuhachi performers who teach their art at the highest level.
This performance ended on January 4th (Sun)
Thank you for coming
